Bushtops Safari Camps, a family-owned collection of luxury safari accommodations, is introducing a new seasonal location for its Roving Bushtops mobile camp in the northern Serengeti National Park, starting June 1. The camp will now move between the northern and southern Serengeti, offering guests proximity to the Mara River and prime wildlife viewing opportunities.

The new northern Serengeti location places Roving Bushtops just a 15-minute drive from the Mara River and Kogatende airstrip. This strategic positioning offers visitors exceptional vantage points for observing the dramatic river crossings that are a hallmark of the migration spectacle. Additionally, the camp's proximity to the Bologonja area promises increased chances for rhino sightings.
Roving Bushtops will alternate between two locations. From December to March, the camp will be situated in Kusini in the southern Serengeti. From June to October, it will occupy its new northern base. This adjustment enables the mobile camp to closely follow the migratory patterns of the region's iconic wildlife.
Ecoconscious accommodations
The camp's eight mobile units, dubbed "Rovers," are solar-powered and carefully engineered to minimize environmental impact. Fresh water is transported from designated sources to avoid straining local resources, while waste management adheres to strict sustainability protocols, including composting of biodegradable materials and recycling initiatives.
Roving Bushtops' new northern location also facilitates easier combinations with other Bushtops properties. It will be situated approximately 40 minutes by game drive from the permanent Serengeti Bushtops camp, enabling guests to experience both Tanzanian offerings. Additionally, visitors can conveniently include Mara Bushtops, located just across the border in Kenya, in their itineraries.
