Cathay Pacific unveiled its retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on Friday.

The first retrofitted plane took flight on service between Cathay's Hong Kong base and Beijing. Retrofitted 777s will be gradually deployed on other Cathay regional and long-haul routes, the airline said, without offering more specifics.

Cathay Pacific has 36 777-300ERs in its fleet, according to Planespotters.net.

The highlight of the retrofit is the new Aria business-class seat, offering the airline's first business-class privacy door.

Another Aria enhancement is a removable divider between the center seats to allow easier interaction for passengers who are flying together. The suite also offers improved stowage, a larger in-flight entertainment screen and more light settings compared with earlier-generation Cathay business-class products, the airline said.
