The Regent hotel brand is back in the Americas after a 32-year absence, with the opening of the Regent Santa Monica Beach in Southern California.
Founded in 1970, the Regent brand previously had a U.S. presence with the Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, Calif., but that luxury hotel was reflagged as a Four Seasons in 1992.
Located near the Santa Monica Pier, the Regent Santa Monica Beach has 167 guestrooms that start at 720 square feet.
The hotel is home to four dining venues, including the Mediterranean-inspired Orla and Orla Bar developed by James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Mina, as well as the Sweet July Cafe, which is an extension of entrepreneur Ayesha Curry's Sweet July lifestyle and culinary brand. Rounding out the food-and-beverage lineup is the Azure Bar, an outdoor venue serving cocktails and what the hotel describes as "elevated poolside cuisine."

Other amenities include a pool with Pacific Ocean views, a 10,000-square-foot Guerlain Wellness spa, a fitness center and event space, including a 6,100-square-foot ballroom.
Rates at the Regent Santa Monica Beach start at $1,100 per night.
The Regent Santa Monica Beach joins the brand's 10 other hotels in Asia and Europe. IHG Hotels & Resorts acquired the Regent hotel brand in 2018.
