Montage International has expanded its Pendry brand with the opening of the Pendry Natirar in New Jersey's Somerset County.
Spread across 500 acres, the resort is about 50 miles Manhattan. It has 66 guestrooms, including 20 suites, as well as 24 private residences.
The resort's centerpiece is a restored Tudor-style mansion that dates back to 1912. Although numerous contemporary updates have been made, the building retains many original design elements, including a limestone foyer and stone fireplaces.
Ninety Acres is a farm-to-table fine-dining restaurant that showcases ingredients sourced from the estate's 10-acre working farm. Other dining options include all-day restaurant Ladd's Tavern and The Cooking School, which offers hands-on classes with local chefs.
Wellness programming is anchored by the Pendry Natirar's 19,000-square-foot Spa Pendry, which houses 12 treatment rooms, an indoor plunge pool and a Himalayan salt room.
The resort's Compass Sports program specializes in guided experiences like e-bike tours, archery and horseback riding. Paintbox is a children's program offering guests ages 5 to 12 access to farm visits and outdoor recreation. The Natirar Club is a members-only club.
The New Jersey property is Pendry's ninth, joining locations in San Diego; Baltimore; West Hollywood; Chicago; New York; Park City, Utah; Washington D.C.; and Newport Beach, Calif. The luxury brand is in expansion mode, with projects in development in Tampa, Barbados and Mexico's Punta Mita and Mexico City.
