American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) president and CEO Chip Rogers has stepped down. Kevin Carey, the trade group's senior executive vice president and COO, has replaced Rogers on an interim basis.
In a statement, AHLA said that Rogers had "resigned last Friday to pursue other professional interests."
Rogers joined AHLA as its chief executive in 2019. He came to the organization from the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), where he had spent five years as AAHOA president and CEO.

AHLA said its board of directors is forming a committee to find candidates for the CEO position and will retain an executive search firm to assist in the process.
Carey has been AHLA's COO since 2017 and will continue in that role while occupying the interim president/CEO position.
AHLA has more than 30,000 hotel members.
