AmaWaterways said the 2025 destinations for its Soulful Experiences sailings will be Egypt, Portugal, France and Colombia.
Now in its third year, the Soulful Experience series celebrates Black heritage, traditions and culture in destinations rich with African history.
Ama said guests can expect nightly entertainment while surrounded by fellow travelers who share their enthusiasm for uncovering Black culture.
Departure dates and specific destinations include May 14 on the Nile, Aug. 21 on the Rhone (with three nights in Paris), Oct. 18 on Colombia's Magdalena River, and Nov. 14 on Portugal's Douro (with three nights in Lisbon). Bookings made by Dec. 31, 2024 can get up to 20% off cruise fares and special air prices.
The cruises, generally 10 or 11 nights, combine the standard Ama cruise experience on a particular river with curated experiences and enrichment opportunities. On the trip to Portugal, for example, guests will spend three nights in Lisbon, which was home to a significant population of free Africans, played a key role in the transatlantic slave trade, and was the site of Europe's first African neighborhood, Ama said.
